Business Development Manager

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the incumbent  will manage a sales team in an insurance environment and ensure that sales targets are achieved and maintained.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Degree/ Diploma in sales and marketing or related field (FSB recognized qualification)
  • FAIS Accreditation (RE1 and RE5)
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Sales Manager
  • Experience in funeral products and insurance industry is required

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Sales planning and tracking achievement of milestones
  • Meeting performance standards as set out by business
  • Manage the flow of day to day operations
  • Monitor team member participation
  • Assist in the development of operational strategy the team will use to reach its goals
  • Provide coaching and communicate clear instructions to team members
  • Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating training initiatives
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sound policies, procedures and systems for the optimal functioning of the department
  • Ensure that the team adheres to policies, procedures, rules, guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure seamless operation between departments
  • Monthly reporting of the team’s qualitative and quantitative outputs
  • Give customer service and support to strategic business partners
  • Attend to general enquiries from stakeholders
  • Perform adhoc duties as and when required
